I wanted something nice but not stuffy. My family lives in the area around Washington D.C. and there are two areas where you can find nice old bars. I went and visited Georgetown Near M. Street and Old Town Alexandria Virginia. A small place with a long bar and Large back bar was what I was looking to open. Finding a place on Main street with 12 foot high ceilings allowed me to turn this idea into reality.
The name International Cafe came from wanting a lot of import beers a wine list and food specials. We have over forty import beers, twenty different labels of wine and daily food specials like lasagna, chicken stir fry and beef stroganoff. The name also fits in with the designconcept. The first item that catches your eye is an eleven foot high Big Ben made by my father.
